The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) community involvement process allows citizens the opportunity to comment on projects that impact the environment. However many public comment periods receive little if any attention and there is an enormous need for technical commenting. Our goal is to fill that need when we comment on projects involving air pollution, water pollution, hazardous waste disposal, protection of endangered species (such as Michigan's Great Lakes Piping Plover shown above), and development plans with environmental concerns.
Environmental Review, Inc. is organizing an online community of volunteer engineers and scientists to review and comment on documents posted online by governmental agencies for 30-day public comment periods. If you know about environmental science and regulations, come help us provide public oversight for environmentally sensitive projects. All of our work is done online. We have a national directory of public comment periods and examples of our work on our website.
We are working toward building capacity for technical commenting in Michigan. Experience as a consultant or regulator is preferred however recent college graduates and students in engineering or sciences may also apply. To learn how to join our collaborative team email Tom at show contact info
