The Sprig Adventure Series is built around the Discover Rig a sturdy, battery-free vehicle with a removable push bar and removable equipment rack.
The Discover Rig comes with Adventure Guide Cap Faraday, who, while spiffy in his green safari hat, it a bit of a mumbler. He yells something that sounds a bit like Jamba! Any Adventure Guide placed in the driver’s seat has its own sound effects, dialogue and music.
The Rig can seat up to three Adventure Guide characters at one time. Violet Rio wears the purple hat and Edmund Peak is in the gray hat. These last two are more musical than Cap Faraday.
When a child rolls the Discover Rig forward (with or without the pushbar), it triggers the generator that fuels the lights and sounds. There are three play modes on the Discover Rig control located on the undercarriage.
Search (lights only) – See the trio picture, where Rio and Peak are still powered from running on our treadmill. Fully powered, kids can use them as a flashlight.
Rally (lights and motor sounds) – Vroom, Vroom!
Adventure (lights, motor, dialog, sound effects and songs the whole kit and caboodle!) It is a racket your child will love!
The Sprig Discover Rig was nominated for the 2009 Toy of the Year, Boy Toy of the Year, and Specialty Toy of the Year. In 2010, the Dolphin Explorer Boat won Toy of the Year. They are made of sustainable bioplastic instead of oil-based plastics, again, better for your child AND the environment.
Recommended for ages 3 and up.
This is in VERY GOOD condition. At one point a piece of the cab, at the top of the ‘windshield,’ had broken. It has been glued with superglue and doesn’t really show. There are a few nicks and scuffs. Thankfully, all the material is lightly speckled, so what I thought was dirt was a design feature. Yeah!
Boxed for shipping, this weighs under 5 lbls 15 oz and measures 12” x 13” x 13”.
