Looking for a competent rhythm/solo mandolin player for a part-time professional band.
We do not tour at this stage (maybe eventually), but we do try to maximize pay per gig (especially for music fests) and put out performances we can be proud of. I do not want any hobbyists in the band, nor people who are in other bands*.
Stage presence and good sense of humor an absolute must. Must be able to keep rhythm and take solos. Skill level can be moderate if your stage presence is good. Huge bonus if you can sing and find your own harmonies, but not a must.
The band is my established backup band, so you'll be playing my music. While I try to make sure everyone is happy and their needs are accommodated, it is not run like a democracy. Again, no hobbyists. No. Hobbyists. Must not cause me unnecessary annoyance or drama.
*the exception being if you're a real hired-gun pro who knows how to act like it, and has enough time/availability for us. We can't pay you to rehearse/record, but we try to get good pay for each gig to make it worth your while.
