German master 4/4 violin by H. Karner - Mittenwald, 1977
Modern violin from Mittenwald, a beautiful sounding master violin by H. Karner from 1977 with dated original label. Its large, voluminous sound, radiant in the trebles, meets soloistic requirements.
With its carefully selected, beautiful tonewoods and its attractive orange-brown oil varnish, this Mittenwald Karner violin gives a good example of the high quality of recent Mittenwald violins and does honor to the Karner name, which has been rooted in local violin making history since the late 18th century. Its top of fine to medium grained spruce and one-piece back of interestingly flamed maple are the work of an experienced hand that has created a body with exceptionally good vibration characteristics. This violin has been preserved in good condition, one small repaired crack by 'F' hole and with a few traces of playing. It has been checked and set up ready to play at my Shop. Its mature and clear sound, rich in overtones, with its rich volume and radiance, meets professional standards for solo playing.
