Feel free to make a reasonable offer. I'm looking to clear some space in my storage unit, and I don't use this anymore.
This is an awesome Ampeg bass rig consisting of an SVT iii (non Pro) head in a road case and the ‘fridge – an 810 cabinet. I used this in backline for concerts and festivals my company (2 Stones Events) booked.
I wouldn’t say the head is rare, but they’re not real easy to come by. According to the serial number, this one is from 1993 (the ‘F’ in TN3DF40024). It’s in very clean condition with all the knobs, switches, buttons, sliders, jacks, etc. functioning as they should.
This amp, which features three 12AX7 preamp tubes, puts out 350 watts at 4 ohms (which is what the accompanying cabinet is) or 200 watts at 8 ohms. I also have two other Ampeg 8-ohm cabinets that I could use this with this head – an SVT-210HE and/or an SVT-15HE. Ampeg came out with the Pro version of the iii, but the non-Pro is the one that players seek out. You can find the manual here:
The amp head comes in a great 4-space road case by a manufacturer I wasn’t familiar with, MCM Custom Audio. I’ve had tons of SKBs, Gators, etc. – this one is as good as they come. The back removable end panel has a zippered mesh net that you can put cables in so they don’t flop all around inside the case. The case is in near-mint condition.
The cabinet is from 1974 and features the slant back and towel bar, much easier to maneuver than the previous flat back cabinets. All eight of the sought-after CTS 10” speakers are in great shape; 32 ohms each; wired for 4-ohms total; and rated to handle 240 watts. Don't dime the amp and you'll be fine. There are tears and scuffs on the 100+ pound cabinet consistent with steady use for 50 years – but she sounds oh so sweet.
I’m looking to sell these two vintage pieces together; they are in my company storage unit in downtown Brighton, Michigan.
Cash is king, but Venmo and PayPal (“friends and family” so neither of us gets hit with their fees) rule, too! I’m not looking for ANY trades. Thanks for looking.
