Cetec Gauss model 5840 15" inch bass driver. Original condition, not a recone. The driver is in good condition with no rips, tears, repairs etc. Sweep tested and measuring 7.3 Ohms. Made with a cast aluminum frame and a dual "spider" design these are extremely durable and efficient drivers. Great for a ported bass cab or three way keyboard cab. The brochure states 200 Watts continuous "Sign wave" power - but the musical power rating should be considerably more. I used this driver with a 360 watt Trace Elliot bass amp and it didn't even blink!

From the Cetec brochure:
"Gauss Series 40 Bass Instrument Loudspeakers deliver clear and forceful lows throughout the full dynamic range created on the stage and in the studio. …….In each Series 40 loudspeaker, a massive 17¼ lb. magnetic assembly, set in a rigid 8-spoke cast aluminum frame, assures powerful response on the lowest of notes. Gauss' unique double spider system, with a specially designed surround, maintains alignment of the copper voice coil under all transient power conditions. A black anodized aluminum voice coil support and an integral heat-sink pot structure conduct and dissipate heat. The flexible voice coil leads, terminated on the voice coil frame, virtually eliminate potential breakage of the lead wire. These features, combined with Cetec's precision workmanship and rigorous quality control, permit these Gauss speakers to reliably handle up to 200 watts of continuous sine-wave power. Series 40 speakers are designed for use in ported enclosures, although they also perform well in horn-loaded, open-back or infinite-baffle enclosures."
