A rare mid-century piece with true family history!
This RCA wood cabinet originally housed the iconic “dog” TV with voice-recognition features, designed to respond to the master’s voice. It also included built-in 78 RPM and 45 RPM record players that pulled out for use.
History & Origin:
• RCA (Radio Corporation of America) produced these stylish “dog” TV consoles in 1949–1953, combining home entertainment and fine furniture craftsmanship.

• Designed as a high-end home centerpiece, the consoles often featured tube TVs with pull-out record players, hidden storage for records, and elegant wood craftsmanship.
• Purchased new by my grandparents for their Detroit home in 1950, this console has been part of our family since then.
