Nana’s VINTAGE 70s Decorative Xmas Solid Brass? French Fox Hunt Horn Candlestick
This was found in the basement of Nana’s house with all of her seasonal Christmas things. She had this since the 1970s, we guesstimate, and used it every holiday. We keep finding more wax residue when we are sure we cleaned it well the last time.
This solid brass French Fox Horn is something she used to decorate her mantle for the holidays. We didn’t see a matching candlestick to this unfortunately.
Nana was of English/Canadian heritage and loved all things English Christmas!
This candlestick is 9 ¼” tall. The bell is 3 ¼” in diameter. The diameter of the loop is 4 ¼.” And, the base is 3 ¼” and solid so your candlestick is weighted and won’t fall over, It also has decades old felt so your table or mantle won’t be scratched. And as usual, never leave a burning candle unattended. :) Also, the candle is an example of what it would look like with one in there. It, unfortunately, doesn’t come with the holder.
This horn is NOT in perfect condition. Please zoom in and verify that you are comfortable with what you are purchasing. If you look in the mouthpiece and the bell, this looks like aged brass. The rest of the horn has a bright golden hew and does not seem aged. Did they ever cover the brass with shiny paint? We just want to point this out, because we are not sure why this is like that.
This is also a unique design which made it hard to figure out the price, so since there is only one, we’re choosing a lesser price. Hope this helps.
Hopefully, we can find a new home for this well-loved candlestick.
