Nana’s Kurt S Adler Whimzles by Michele Noiset Xmas Singing Rock Lobster
This was found in Nana's Present room after she passed. That's where she kept loads of toys, clothes and general stuff that the grandkids might like, need or want. And that room was packed. Opening the closet itself was a danger in case things started falling from the shelves. Yet I find myself in awe of the range of items Nana had, ‘just in case.’
Nana lived a bit in Maine and had a nice collection of Lobster items which we are selling off as we find them. This is more of a mantel or centerpiece ornament. Personally, we would tie green ribbon around the claws and hang it on the tree; it is that cool.
And we were pretty sure it was BRAND NEW. However, when we opened the box, the green star on the bottom left side of the of the lobster was broken off. Now we’re not sure if it was NEW or USED anymore. We moved it into my office 2 years ago so we could fix it, and every time we opened it, we’d close it again because we weren’t sure how to fix it. Sadly, every time we opened the Styrofoam box, little beads of Styrofoam broke off. So, now we are saying “USED”.
Over the last year we found a new glue (E6000) that we thought would work when we found it again. It did. We have adjusted the price down because of the repaired star and beady box.
Still, this is a very RARE Whimzles featuring a lobster rocking out, or maybe he’s out for the night at karaoke. He’s so rare, we couldn’t find a comparison listed or sold. He is festively dressed wearing a green wreath around his shoulders which features a light green satin-ish ribbon as a tie. While holding a sparkly silver microphone, he belts out Holiday favorites. He is 4 ¼” x 2 ½” x 7 ½” tall.
Boxed for shipping, this weighs 1 lbs 5 oz and measures 10” x 8” x 5”.
