Defective Gallagher S12 electric fence charger - $40 (Dexter)

Here is the deal. I'll let you take it home and try to fix it. If you can repair it, you must give me $40. If you cannot repair it, it is yours to throw away for free.
I trust that you'll eventually pay if you get it to work. Otherwise, just through it away.
I won't be following up or pressuring you to get it done or provide updates or anything like that. You can take your time. Just make sure to remember to pay me if and when you get it to work.
Background: I purchased this three years ago. It worked great for 2.5 years. In October 2025, the little green indicator light turned solid red. Based on a phone call with Gallagher tech support, I returned it to the manufacturer expecting a battery change. They tested the battery and unit, said it was fine, and sent it back without doing anything. It worked again until this April 2026. Now it has the same issue. It shows a red light next to the battery... It may just need a battery (~$30 on Amazon) or it may need something else. No idea. I'm tired of dealing with it.
If you are familiar with these things and want to have a try, please do. A new one is $180 on Amazon. So, $40 to me and $30 for a battery would be quite a deal.
