You may participate in a virtual workshop, an in-person workshop, or both, where experts will present information on nuclear energy and students will lead roundtable discussions.
We will choose 20-30 participants from the applicant pool based on several factors to ensure a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives among our participant group.
Engagement options are listed below:
2 hours......One virtual workshop on Friday, Nov 17, 2023, 11:30-1:30 pm or 1:30-3:30 pm
5 hours......One in-person workshop at U of M on Saturday, Dec 2, 2023, 11:30-4:30 pm with lunch provided
1-3 hours......Reviewing materials before workshops, communicating with the instructor and students
What you get:
$60 honorarium for attending the virtual workshop
$140 honorarium for attending the in-person workshop
Network with other community members interested in energy and sustainability.
If desired, a customized written or graphic resource that you can use to share information on nuclear power, carbon neutrality, and related issues with your community.
Your participation in this study is voluntary. Participation and compensation require a commitment to the session(s) you sign up for.
You must be 18 or older to participate in the research study. Participants who have not received prior compensation from the University of Michigan (UM) above $600 in the current year will receive a stipend of a $60 gift card issued and sent by the University of Michigan approximately 2-4 weeks after the completion of the virtual workshop. Otherwise, you will be required to complete a W-9 form and an additional week will be required for processing.
