The first one shows a scene near Rock Gap, about 26 miles north of the Georgia border in North Carolina.
The second one shows Appalachian Trail hikers at one of the 12 shelters in the Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina.
Both photos have white reference numbers in the lower right corner and have descriptions and photo credits on the back.
Both of the photos measure 8 x 10 inches and were purchased from an American Heritage employee who work in the archives department.
If you’ve ever hiked the Trail—or know someone who has—either photo, or both, would display nicely in.a frame.
