condition: good
make / manufacturer: Sunoco
size / dimensions: 6 inches in diameter
This ingenious device advertised for a Sunoco dealer and a car repair service on Fenkell (5 Mile) in Detroit. Currently, there’s a Sunoco service next door to the original Fenkell-Coyle Service on 15045 Fenkell near Coyle St.

The wheel was designed to determine the exact mileage from Detroit to various locations throughout the country. All the user had to do was turn to the wheel to the desired destination and find out the routes (before interstate freeways) and mileage to get there.

As you can see from the photos, it’s in really good shape. The wheel is made from a blue and yellow cardboard stock and turns smoothly and is 6 inches in diameter.

This advertising piece is a great glimpse into travel life of 75 years ago.
