This was found in a closet in my FILs that had no wood end piece that could stop items from falling off the shelf. It was lost in that abyss, along with a couple of other old-school things, until we started the remodel and pulled out a filing cabinet.
This VINTAGE MCM valet grooming kit is in NM condition. The only things we see wrong are two spots on the top which looks like someone tried to repair it. Also, the inside of the leather top is a bit rough but we’re not sure how to spruce it up.
Finally, you can see in the final pictures that this was made in Western Germany, which was WWII allies’ side. That stamp, D.B.G.M., was instituted in 1949, making this brush very late 1940 or probably 1950s.
Finally, we’re not sure if the emery boards qualify as a tool. Since my FIL was a Great Depression baby, and kept EVERYTHING, I did find a bunch of grooming tools that I was going to donate. Nothing in that box fits in this set, so….you must decide if emery boards count or not. Sorry!
