(google map)

Ann Arbor horse farm offering riding lessons.

Offered to riders 4 years old and up. Weight from 30 lbs - 250lbs. All experience levels welcome. Riders must wear closed toed shoes (tennis shoes that can get dirty are fine, but a boot with a heel is better). Helmets are available here for borrowing and are required for all riders regardless of age.

Trainer is a college student who has been riding for 15 years and teaching for 5. Besides basic skills, disciplines offered include jumping, dressage, cross country, trail riding, reining, driving, colt starting, liberty work, and endurance riding.

Beginner riders will learn all aspects of horse care including how to catch a horse from a pasture, put on a halter, groom their horse, lead and tie the horse safely, put on tack (English or western), mount independently, and maintain safe body positions during riding.

There is a quality indoor arena, heated indoor tack room, miles of trails, and many well trained horses for use.

Lessons are either 1 hour or 30 minutes (shorter lessons recommended for children under 7). Group lessons available upon request once riders are independent.

1 hour lessons are $30. 30 minute lessons are $20. Discounts are available and package discounts are available. Average lesson price in this area is $45/hour, so this is a significant discount for 1 on 1 instruction.

Email or text (do not call) to set up a lesson or with questions. Please include your contact name and the age/experience level of your rider in your message. Current availability is on weekends only, will expand starting May 1st.
