I am selling my personal copy of the "A Smithsonian Book of Comic-Book Comics" hardcover book. This book was published by the Smithsonian Institution Press, and presents selections of comic books from 1938 to 1955 that feature the adventures of characters such as Superman, Batman, Captain Marvel, The Spirit, and Donald Duck (full list below). It spans 336 pages, and includes essays about each of the character topics in addition to several pages reprinted from the original pressings.
This is the first printing of the book that was published in 1981. It has been primarily stored in a box, and is in excellent condition. The dust jacket does show some minimal signs of wear from moving over many years, but the main book cover and pages are pristine, with no bends, rips, or yellowing. It comes from a smoke-free/pet-free home. I'm asking $25.
Email with any questions, or to set up a time/place to meet. If this ad is still up, it is still available. Thanks for looking!
