These novelty yarns were displayed in a few cabinets in his yarn shop. Sadly, neither of us know anything about knitting or yarn. Especially about novelty yarn. These he kept in sandwich baggies, so they wouldn’t be messed up.
Each skein is $4. The Coats and Kitty are $2.
These skeins seem small to us, but others have listed this size as skeins to, so, we’re going along with that description.
The labels all say 50g =/- 60m oz. 1,75 =/- yds 66. We do not know how that could be yards, but maybe somebody who speaks ‘fiber arts’ can translate.
This is beautiful yarn, we can tell you that. Almost metallic in looks, but not, if you know what I mean. Just lush.
The colors available are:
White – Bright, clean white, not that blue white my camera took
Copper – Just luscious
Hunter green – Not the darker green that is shown in the pictures.
Red – This is a rich medium red, not that radioactive red in the first picture. The second is closest.
Purple – Finally, a color that shows exactly the color it is.
You all should know, we bought this phone for the camera. Sadness.
Also listed:
Coats Opera 5 – 1 50 g. skein. Made in Portugal. Size numbers are in the picture. The correct color is more teal. This reminds me of thicker embroidery thread.
The Kitty Collection – White and black – Made in Italy for S. R Kertzer LTD. 72% Viscose 28% Polyamide. 50 g. +/- 230m. oz. 1,75 +/- yds 251. There are more of this color/style on eBay if you have a cool project for this. Absolutely no idea what you could do with this.
Boxed for shipping, this weighs 8 oz and measures 17” x 3” x 2”.
