The apartment includes:
- Big bedroom (includes desk and chair, armchair, two dressers, full bed and bedside table, closet). I bought the furniture back when I worked in industry, so it is swankier than typical grad student fare and the mattress is probably one of the nicest you'll ever sleep on.
- 2 smaller common areas (we currently use one for a dining table and chairs, and the other for an electric piano - but there is probably room for a small couch and coffee table as well).
- Kitchen - includes a big island and just about all the equipment you can imagine (seriously - we have multiple blenders and rice cookers, a crock pot, a waffle iron and electric griddle, etc etc etc).

We're at the top floor of a house about a floor taller than anything around us, which means the amount of light the apartment gets is pretty ridiculously awesome.

The 12, 13 and 18 buses stop two blocks away, which are an easy way to go either to campus or the Maple shopping center. The heart of Kerrytown (Farmer's market, Zingerman's, the Co-Op etc) is about a 7-10 minute walk, as is the amtrak station and Main street. For the cyclists - it takes me about 15 minutes to get to either central or north campus (I'm sure it's doable faster if you're hardcore), ~5 minutes by bike to Kerrytown. Plenty of street parking if you have a car, though I get by without one.

The roomie is an easygoing and studious econ grad student. We get along pretty well, so I'm really looking for a no-friction replacement.

I have a roommate, who I've lived with for 2+ years, and she's nice, neat, and hardly around. (She studies Pysch and Creative Writing.) Rent+utilities = $625/mo., not including cable/internet (about $15/mo.) and electricity (about $20/mo.) - but for the electricity/cable/internet we're currently using money from our parking space sale, so they're "free" until that's gone. This price can be negotiated, but is pretty good given the location! We do have a parking space but it's taken until the end of winter semester. We have a TV, a 2-sink bathroom, large windows, a walk-out front door (we're on the first level so it just goes to the street, which is nice), and some nice movies. My room is conveniently located on the main floor near two bathrooms and the living room/study room. This room really is amazing! I wish I was still living here but I will be subleting a room in my house at 426 Hill Street! It's an awesome, very cheap, fully furnished room that is inside an awesome house. The house features two porches (a front and side), 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a HUGE kitchen (w/ stove and oven, dishwasher, and fridge), and a very comfortable living space (including living room and dining room). This has bee an awesome room and it has really treated me well. The house feels very cozy and comfortable and in all my 4 years at U of M, this has been my favorite house!

This apartment is truly fantastic. It has a bedroom on the first floor, washer and drier, vaulted ceilings, huge balcony, and an extra storage space, accessible from the balcony. There is a second floor loft that looks down over the rest of the apartment, and has a seriously cool view, and makes a perfect second bedroom (it's where my fiance and I sleep!) First floor bedroom has a walk-in closet. Washer and dryer are stackable, and tuck away neatly in a hall closet so they can be hidden from view of your company! We also have a spacious bathroom with plenty of counter space, and a wall length mirror as well as medicine cabinet in the bathroom. There's a floor to ceiling mirrored closet in the entryway, a breakfast bar attached to the kitchen, and an absolutely wonderful view off of the balcony - green grass and wonderful trees.

The apartment community is truly gorgeous, and comes with a gated entrance for added security. The grounds are kept in wonderful shape, and have tennis courts as well as a playground nestled away between the buildings, which are all surrounded with beautiful wooded land. Club house has a hot tub, pool hall, wi-fi access, indoor badminton court, and fitness center. Behind the clubhouse is a gorgeous pool with stone ledges surrounding it and ample amounts of tents and trees for shade, as well as tons of lounge chairs. The clubhouse also has a balcony overlooking the pool, where you can relax with your laptop and enjoy the atmosphere and the wi-fi. The community is also widely diverse - perfect for families (there are plenty of children!) or college students. It's pet friendly over here, dogs and cats are welcome with an additional (but nominal) monthly pet rent. The clubhouse also sponsors community events throughout the year, such as pool parties and bbq's in the summer, as well as pumpkin painting and Christmas parties, etc, for the holidays.

We're also only a short 30 second drive (literally!) away from Washtenaw Community College, and only a 5-10 minute drive away from Eastern Michigan University. St. Joe's hospital is right down the road, and a 5 minute drive will land you right on Carpenter Road, close to all the shopping and restaurants. There's also extremely close access to US 23, and we're right down the road from the gorgeous Matthaei Botanical Gardens!

Truly, you don't want to pass this up! You can stay for only the short sublease period, or sign on for your own lease when the sublease is up (I'm sure you won't want to leave!)

Overall the house is clean and fairly quiet. Outside the room there is a living area with a Nintendo 64 and another TV downstairs. There are 20 people total living in Linder, each person brings a new perspective on life. Food is cooked Sunday through Friday and served at 6:30 every night. Vegetarian options are always offered. Milk, eggs, peanut butter, jelly, fruit, and many other common items are bought to supply the house with food for snacks. There are also a lot of staple foods in bulk such as pasta, quinoa, sugar, flour, and many other items that allow you to make tasty treats and simple meals. Everyone gets a milk crate and a bin in the refrigerator for personal foods. There is a bathroom on every floor that gets cleaned weekly. We also recycle and compost. For people who require transportation around town and to North campus, there is a bus stop less than a 5 minute walk from the house and several AATA bus stops outside.

All in all, it's a fun house and I'm gonna miss it!

The co-op system at UofM is strong. Rent is $529 per month. This covers room AND board as well as utilities. Rent is cheap because you put your own time into keeping up the house. This can entail cooking, cleaning, or attending meetings outside of the house. At the beginning of each semester you choose, as a house, how the money will be divided. To live in, there is a fully refundable $500 deposit and a $100 non-refundable co-op fee. This is essentially your share of the co-op system. comfortable and clean place, fully furnished. There are balcony and big window in room, so the apartment gets always really nice natural light, beautiful lake view in large balcony. The apartment has 24 hours professional-level gym, 2 swimming pool, tennis court, gated entrance with security guard, and really luxury place with incredible price. The kitchen has plenty of counter space & cabinets, and beautiful electric wall fire-place. I bet the best deal around Ann Arbor region, and best located-building (just near the entrance, lake & fountain side) within this apartment.
Laundry room is in the building, including drying machine. The other neighbors in the building are some grad students, and our landlord is biggest real-estate company in Michigan (They have 14 Apartment only around Ann Arbor!) and really responsive.

Best yet: Along the road in front of apartment, there are everything you want within 5 minutes driving, Meijer (open 24 hrs), Kroger (open until midnight), Starbucks (24 hrs open), CVS, Home Depot, golf course, and showcase cinema for your boring winter. Furthermore, car wash and K-mart are just in front of you, within 5 minutes walking!
