This is an ad for a room in Linder co-op at the University of Michigan from January 3 to May 1 (winter semester). The room has enough space for 2 people and storage space under the bed. There is a closet and dresser for clothes as well as a book shelf and shelf for added space (seen in pictures). There is also a desk for working. I have a room mate who is really laid back and is a heavy sleeper so it doesn't matter when you come in. With this in mind, the person considering this room must be a male. I am leaving because I am graduating.

Overall the house is clean and fairly quiet. Outside the room there is a living area with a Nintendo 64 and another TV downstairs. There are 20 people total living in Linder, each person brings a new perspective on life. Food is cooked Sunday through Friday and served at 6:30 every night. Vegetarian options are always offered. Milk, eggs, peanut butter, jelly, fruit, and many other common items are bought to supply the house with food for snacks. There are also a lot of staple foods in bulk such as pasta, quinoa, sugar, flour, and many other items that allow you to make tasty treats and simple meals. Everyone gets a milk crate and a bin in the refrigerator for personal foods. There is a bathroom on every floor that gets cleaned weekly. We also recycle and compost. For people who require transportation around town and to North campus, there is a bus stop less than a 5 minute walk from the house and several AATA bus stops outside.

All in all, it's a fun house and I'm gonna miss it!

The co-op system at UofM is strong. Rent is $529 per month. This covers room AND board as well as utilities. Rent is cheap because you put your own time into keeping up the house. This can entail cooking, cleaning, or attending meetings outside of the house. At the beginning of each semester you choose, as a house, how the money will be divided. To live in, there is a fully refundable $500 deposit and a $100 non-refundable co-op fee. This is essentially your share of the co-op system.
