Future of Reps
They've lost the popular vote in 5 out of the 6 last presidential elections.
They control the House, but Democrats in the House received more total votes than Republicans, again, Reps lost the popular vote.
The only reason they maintain the House majority is because of gerrymandered districts.
Any Republicans who manage to deviate even 1% from the very hardest right wing position are being challenged strongly in primaries by "tea party" candidates financed by extremely wealthy interests.
That will take the Republicans even farther away from what the majority of Americans believe in.
Republicans have lost in the competition of ideas. They're still trying to move the agenda of the Hoover administration. The votes of the American people show that Americans don't believe in those old, repeatedly failed ideas.
The republican party may not be quite dead yet, but it's coughing up blood. They've set up a circular firing squad for the next election.
Good luck with that. It'll be fun to watch the carnage.
