I can Google the "Fact" that the earth is flat, that doesn't make it (true.)
Telling me to Google that conservatives are more charitable than liberals is ridiculous. I can find anything I want on Google that will support even the most ludicrous claim.
A question for you. Where in this does the individual have a responsibility to develop skills and knowledge that makes them an asset to employers? If the individual is going to benefit from better wages and benefits shouldn't the individual have the wherewithal to obtain the knowledge and skills? Do each of us have the personal responsibility to be the best we can be? If the individual comes to me as an employer and says if you pay for my training I will be a good employee my response will be if you are truly a good employee you will come to me with the skills necessary to do the job I offer you. It's the essential difference in the belief of personal responsibility between liberals and conservatives. Libs believe "someone" should provide the direction and means for them. Conservatives believe individuals are responsible for their destiny, bureaucrats in DC have no idea what is best for each of 300 million Americans.
So now you are saying it is the individual's responsibility to get job training, not the government's. What happened to the obligation we have to help people down on their luck? If it isn't the government's responsibility, then who do they turn to? You? Oh, that's right. Not you, the government provides lot of job training programs, so it doesn't have to be you. But wait a moment... you just said the government doesn't have the responsibility. And we know it isn't you (even though you are a charitable guy). And you just said that as a hiring manager, you would tell someone to go find the skills and come back when they have them. So where do they get the skills??? Hmmm, what a dilemma. I mean you WANT to help people. After all you said we have an OBLIGATION to help people down on their luck. Oh NOW I think I get it. It's OTHER people's obligation to help people down on their luck. Not YOURS. Now that makes sense. Very charitable of you.
Really? Are you so whacked you actually believe if a person is conservative they get off on suffering? Have you looked up who is most charitable? You're not well informed, your mind is closed, a combination of hatred and ignorance seems to be your hallmark. Not the necessary attributes for success.
I have seen some conservative politicians ON VIDEO compare poor people to animals. So, yes, I think there are conservatives who get off on seeing poor people suffer.
Politicians try to move people away from dependence in the humane way, it's rebuffed. All they have left is to withdraw it. You say it's cruel, then scream at those who sued because drug testing is demeaning, or claim welfare to work is racist.
You didn't read all of my last post, did you? I never said that welfare to work was racist. In fact I am completely in favor of it. What I am NOT in favor of is just cutting off the support with no warning.
America borrows $1.2 trillion a year to continue a lifestyle it can't afford.
Yeah, spending trillions of dollars policing the world is definitely a lifestyle we can't continue. I have a novel idea. How about we keep our noses out of other people's business and stick to managing affairs here at home? We could start by repairing the crumbling roads and bridges and following through on our moral obligation to help those down on their luck, as long as it is everyone else and not you. If you know any history, which I am pretty sure you failed, a large reason Rome collapsed was because they spent way too much on defense and extended their reach far beyond their capacity. Hmmm.. It does seem like the US is following the same kind of path.
Well, I can only conclude that you are not going to read my entire post. You are probably just going to skim it and mutter to yourself: "more liberal crap" and then go on a rant about how much of a leech to society liberals are. Nothing we haven't heard before.
