re: Re:Re:Funny How Conservatives Don't Care When
Where did you get that fact from? Or is that just your belief?
Seriously? Google is your friend, do a search, knowledge empowers you to make wise decisions for yourself.
I will say it amazes me the number hard core libs who are ignorant of basic facts, who in our electronic world could take just a few minutes and discover the truth yet choose to remain ignorant. Why didn't you look that up? Another part of the lib psyche, someone do it for me?
Ok, then who should follow through on those obligations? You? Are you willing to organize all your conservative friends to help the millions of unemployed people in this country get the job training they need? After all, you guys are very charitable.
Less sarcasm and more knowledge would serve you well. Billions from the Stimulus were spent to train people, there are still government programs. In a lot of areas there were more available slots than applicants because people could collect unemployment for a year. There are still training programs today.
Again, a little knowledge goes a long way to understand what happened and how it can be improved. The real difference between liberals and conservatives is liberals believe a big pile of taxpayer money will solve any problem, if it doesn't that's because the pile wasn't big enough.
A question for you. Where in this does the individual have a responsibility to develop skills and knowledge that makes them an asset to employers? If the individual is going to benefit from better wages and benefits shouldn't the individual have the wherewithal to obtain the knowledge and skills? Do each of us have the personal responsibility to be the best we can be?
If the individual comes to me as an employer and says if you pay for my training I will be a good employee my response will be if you are truly a good employee you will come to me with the skills necessary to do the job I offer you. It's the essential difference in the belief of personal responsibility between liberals and conservatives. Libs believe "someone" should provide the direction and means for them. Conservatives believe individuals are responsible for their destiny, bureaucrats in DC have no idea what is best for each of 300 million Americans.
But, cutting people off from help with no warning, like Congress just recently did, is unfair and just plain wrong. That is not "tough love." It is downright mean spirited. If conservatives are as charitable as you claim, the politicians representing them should be offering to restore the money with the requirement that, from now on, people must do at least some kind of work, no matter how small, to get the benefits. So far, I haven't seen the conservative politicians make that offer, which makes me think they really don't want to help. They'd rather just see people suffer.
Really? Are you so whacked you actually believe if a person is conservative they get off on suffering? Have you looked up who is most charitable? You're not well informed, your mind is closed, a combination of hatred and ignorance seems to be your hallmark. Not the necessary attributes for success.
Work for welfare was (again) recently proposed in MI, it was called everything from racist to demeaning, people asked what will I do with my kids while I'm at work? Like no working parent faces that question, but solves it to keep the income stream flowing. Drug testing passed years ago, but the state was sued and lost.
Politicians try to move people away from dependence in the humane way, it's rebuffed. All they have left is to withdraw it. You say it's cruel, then scream at those who sued because drug testing is demeaning, or claim welfare to work is racist.
America borrows $1.2 trillion a year to continue a lifestyle it can't afford. Obama has said since very early in his tenure the debt will be $20 trillion when he leaves office. One of our largest budget items today is interest on the debt. Economists say at $25 trillion the interest payment will be so large that we will default, it will be so all consuming of the federal budget we will make very difficult choices about what
We were left a strong, viable, free nation. It is the responsibility of each and every American to pass that on to the next generation of Americans so they can experience the freedom and prosperity we have. It isn't without a price, effort, or sacrifice at times, it isn't our right to suck America dry and leave the next generation with nothing but our debt. We often hear about the individuals who have sacrificed everything for America, but that doesn't relieve the rest of us for responsibility for the nation's future. Each individual needs to contribute.
We're approaching the point of no return, Obama is going to leave very little to work with in the future, especially if a conglomeration of his ill advised policies and programs tumble like dominoes and put us into another recession. We can continue to foster the attitude that dependence is a right, ignore the implications of this belief and watch as the nation fails. Or make the decision to say everyone needs to make every effort to contribute, to become self sufficient, to help pay the taxes to turn our economic future around.
How do YOU think the nation can continue on the current path and survive? Don't you think we have an obligation to future generations to leave a nation that is strong and free?
