Family Vacation Cabin for Sale or Trade (East of Grayling)
This cabin comes with 2 bedrooms (1 is the loft) with a total three log beds (1 queen in master BR, 1 std in loft, 1 twin in loft) as well as a futon and TV in the loft. Room enough to sleep up to 9 people (although previous owner slept 14 at once). Two couples and their children would be typical.
Large bathroom has been remodeled, along with shower & tub combo. Laundry Room includes washer and dryer & laundry tub with good storage.
Eat-in kitchen includes refrigerator, electric stove, dishwasher and microwave with plenty of cupboards (pots/pans/dishes etc. included).
Living room has a fold-out queen couch, as well as a leather couch with tilt backs & foot rests, lazy-boy style lounger and others. The huge stone fireplace has a stove insert that can heat the entire cabin, although individual thermostats control the electric heat that is included in all rooms. The TV has great reception with just the digital TV antenna installed, getting major stations, as well as stations from Gaylord, Traverse City etc. Set-up also has a DVD & VHS player.
The home/cabin is well insulated in the walls, ceiling and crawl space, keeping heat in or out, depending on the season. A new 25 yr. shingled roof was installed about 2+ years ago on the cabin.
A lean-to for firewood is located just outside for ease of getting that dry fire wood. A storage shed (10'x14') with electric and lighting is also kept behind the cabin for storage of bicycles, lawn mower, canoe & sleds etc.)
Our cabin was built on four (4) lots and has an asphalt drive and parking area off of a county maintained road. This is a great place to stay for relaxation (very quiet!) and includes use of the Warblers' Hideaway Association's over 400 acres of land (950 total acres) of which consist of "common" property for the use of all members. The property encompasses the East and West Branches of Big Creek. Fishing on premises and North Branch of the AuSable River is just down the road within a mile or so, with crystal clear Shupac Lake (trout, bass, panfish), KP Lake (bass, perch, walleye, pike, panfish) and others close by. . .as well as the association's 45 unit campground for visitors and family. Hunting can be done throughout the "common" areas (directly behind the cabin and hundreds of acres of adjacent state land (just 100 yards behind the cabin). Hunting for morel mushrooms is also a fun and delicious time. Association fees are only $125/yr and includes the use of the outdoor pool, trout pond, campground, target range, main banquet facilities etc. (about 1.5 miles away from the cabin). Cabins are located fairly distant from each other where you can just see them through the trees, so really quiet but neighboring cabins are close enough where we all look out for each other.
We are now retired and do not get out as often as we like, so we are looking to sell or trade this great cabin for land in Michigan or Ohio. . ..We paid $85,000 in 2007 (plus furnishings) and added a new roof in 2011. We understand the current financial climate and understand and appreciate any reasonable offer that may be made to us for a sale or trade. A trade would be for land and or land & cash only,...preferably for hunting, or lakeside property with no cabin. Our cabin is currently winterized (water off) for the season. Thanks,... I can send more pictures if requested.
