King, Robert Johnson, T Bone Walker, Wilco, Little Joy, Loose Fur, L.A.G.Q., The Velvet Underground, Beethoven, Brahms, Lynyrd Skynyrd, C.C.R., North Mississippi Allstars, Black Sabbath/Ozzy, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Ratatat, S.R.V., Television, Tom Petty, Travis, Toubab Krewe, Van Halen, Velvet Revolver.

I've learned from all of these bands, studied them, and like to play all the different styles of music. I have a great working knowledge of the fretboard ( keys/scales/chords ) but dont know any theory. I have zero interest in any type of repetitive music ( alt rock, emo, screamo ) I believe every song is a new idea and should be treated as such. I have 2 les pauls and a marshall. My bandmate had something come up, and we have a pretty fun gig coming up this Friday night in flint. I am looking for someone who is comfortable enough to fill in with me tomorrow, male or female, it doesn't matter. I play the uke and sing - we normally play a lot of originals, but since there's not really time for you to learn all of the songs, I'm thinking mostly covers (jack johnson, beatles, nickel creek etc.)

What we need: A bassist and a singer. You should obviously be talented and willing to leave at the drop of a hat. This probably isn't for you if you have a wife and kids, however if you truly believe it won't get in the way, do respond. We aren't against any race or age as long as you are dedicated, drug free, and ready to rock and go on tour.

We have a place to play that has 2 amps and a drum set. It also has a mic, but a singer with a PA is a bonus. We don't have any bass equipment, sorry. Sad As stated above, we are very willing to travel, just hit us up.

- Own your own bass rig (capable of adequately complementing at least a guitar half-stack)

- Willing to practice at least once weekly with relative flexibility
- Serious work ethic and positive attitude
- Demos, if at all possible

- Reliable form of transportation
- Reasonable technical proficiency (Some music education is a plus)
- Must be able to contribute to the songwriting process, with an ear and appreciation for many different styles within the framework of hard rock and metal music
- Various other intangibles (chemistry, etc…)

You should be familiar enough with the bass to be able to balance the rhythmic and melodic aspects of the instrument, much like a rhythm guitarist who can enhance the songs we’ve written. Some good starting points for what we're looking for stylistically would be a player like Geddy Lee from Rush, Troy Sanders from Mastodon, Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy, etc...

Bottom line: if you think the music is a good fit, we’re two really easy going, dedicated musicians eager to hear from and possibly work with you.

The makers of the film ‘Sleep Study’ are looking for local, unsigned bands to add to the soundtrack for their movie.

The film is about six patients who enter Dr. Roberts’ trial drug program ready for a quick buck, and for a good night’s sleep. When they awake they will be forced to fight not only for their lives but for their sanity.

The film is being shot in Michigan with an all Michigan cast and crew.

I'm very interested in creating a funky/jazzy/fusion inspired band, preferably all original. Maybe a few covers to thicken up a set list variation. I wanna make people move and some of the time, I'd want to make them move tastefully. Maybe a little electronica vibe here and there if you're into that. Maybe dare to make it progressive. I'd be interested in either instrumental and voclas, but I think finding the right sound and style is crucial before considering bringing in a vocalist (if need be).

As far as keyboardist, I'm a HUGE Brian Auger fan. His style on the the B3 is too hot to deny, IMO. Also, Chick Corea's work with Return to Forever is very smooth and tasty.
