32 ft Gooseneck 4 Horse Trailer Living Quarter Steel - $1900 ( Dexter MI)
OK, you've gotta see this to appreciate it! Affectionately called "the white whale" It is a 1980 All steel Rare Breed (brand) 32 ft tip to tail Gooseneck Horse Trailer. Ready to haul!
Well, ok- that's relatively speaking... structurally it is sound. Floor boards are good to very good condition, underframe is sound and strong, tires are newer (according to prev. owner, replaced in the last couple of years with minimal driving) D-load rating, lots of tread. Electric Brakes are in working condition but are not hooked up right now (previously tested and worked.) Tail lights and most of the clearance lights are working. Gooseneck has safety chains attached, locks in place easily. Hand jack is a workout, but raises and lowers just fine. Roof is intact, only a few seam leaks (could use another coat of seal for extra protection)
As far as repairs and necessary work goes, most of it is cosmetic and remodeling. The living quarters area needs renovation from the floor up. there is carpeting in decent shape at the overhang, and one storage cabinet installed, but if you really want to camp in it, you will need to redo the walls (insulation panels and interior covering), and build it out from there (sink, stove, tables etc.) there is an electrical hook up for campsites with power, but it is not connected to anything. Like I said, renovation time.
Interior needs sandblasted and re-painted (no rust throughs, just surface, (the horses don't really care, but it is not so pretty.)
wood sides are ok, one side has been replaced with plywood, other side is original wood panels
You could haul up to 6 pony-to- medium size animals right now the way it is- just use the front overhang for Hay or tack storage.
If you need it to look nice, well, now you have a great project at hand. Some sandblasting at the seams, some primer, caulk and paint....there ya go.
