Description: Systems Technology Group (STG) is in need of Engine Build Technicians for our direct client in Milford, MI. The duration is long-term (6+ months). Must be able to successfully complete the required Drug Testing and Background Checks prior to starting assignment. Must be able to pass a physical exam. Must be flexible to work any shift, particularly 2nd and 3rd shift.

• Perform the most complex and specialized mechanical and/or electrical tests on product components or series of components
• Design and develop specialized measurements, special purpose instrumentation and/or shop or laboratory test equipment
• Analyzes data and makes recommendations on unusual and difficult technical problems
• Keeps records on work performed, analyzes data collected, and reports results
• Recommends revisions to product or component design
• Maintains good housekeeping, safety practices and supplies
• Coordinates and exchanges findings with engineering personnel outside work group on a frequent basis
• Presentation of test results and recommendations to customers

Required Skills/Experience:
• Engine building experience, Light fabrication, automotive electrical, engine diagnostics and repair, Engine stand build-up, Vehicle fuel system knowledge for vehicle emissions test prep
• Knowledge in MS Office (Word) -- Advanced level
• Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool -- Advanced level
• Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally
• Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
• Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
• Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
• Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas
• Advanced ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using root cause analysis where problems are more complex
• Strong knowledge of complex mechanical and/or electrical concepts - 10+ years' experience
• Strong engineering math knowledge - 10+ years' experience
• Advanced ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings - 10+ years' experience
• Position related experience - 10+ years' experience
• Areas of expertise include: Quality, Testing and Automotive systems

Required Education/Training:
• High School diploma or GED
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical field or Automotive Technology or equivalent training
