CAD Designer (Farmington Hills, MI)
compensation: Based on experience, up to $45K
Our client is a leading global provider of wire harnesses, subassemblies and value-added assembly services to a variety of industries including automotive, HVAC, home appliances, construction and agricultural equipment, and others. This is a quickly growing company with over 14,000 employees and locations spanning 15 countries in North America, Europe and Asia. Selected candidate would work to support engineering staff to create and maintain CAD models and drawings in the development of new and modification of existing wire harnesses and associated components. -Create technical wiring harness drawings, value-added assembly drawings and component drawings for customer projects using 3D & 2D software. Revise drawings and models as required.
-Responsible for document entry and management within a PLM environment.
-Will lead the evaluation effort of 2D wire harness creation tools and maintain component library.
-Support activities required to release company products related to new model or engineering change activities.
-Responsible for completing work on time with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.
-Understand and utilize company & customers' drawing policy and procedures.
-Participate in customer & customer weekly teleconferences.
-Technical diploma / degree or equivalent experience in electrical or wire harness field.
-Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to adapt and learn quickly.
-Ability to manage multiple project events.
-Ability to understand schematic and wiring diagrams.
-Effective communication skills.
-Good understanding of design and drafting principals, procedures and specifications relating to harnesses, cables and electr-mechanical assemblies.
-CAD related training and experience creating wiring harnesses in applicable 3D & 2D software packages.
-Familiarity with Autodesk 360 PLM is a plus.
-Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
-Ability to work within a team environment
-Willingness to travel to customers, suppliers and manufacturing locations.
-Valid passport or ability to obtain one.
-Valid driver's license.
This is a contract-to-hire position. Compensation is up to $45,000 annually based on candidate qualifications.
