1997 Lincoln Town Car Executive Edition - Light Blue on Light Blue
Senior owned, 2 owner, rust free, non-smoker's car, originally from Florida. I bought the car in Florida in 2002 when I lived in Mississippi and it remained there until I moved back to Michigan in October of 2007, so the car has only seen 2 winters here (2007-8 & this winter 2008-9).
The car has 210,XXX miles, but largely highway miles from driving from Mississippi to Michigan to see our children and back home from 2002 to 2007 (2000 miles per trip).
Still rides and drives great and looks good.
Minor Issues:
Interior - left driver's door closer strap cover torn, visible wear on steering wheel cover, right sun visor clip broken, seat belt retractors a little weak, cruise control switch cover gone (cruise still works).
Exterior - very small stone chip in windshield; right front turn signal clear lens broken (still works); some paint peeling on hood and door trim (all small spots); discoloration of trim around windshield; automatic trunk closer cable broken (trunk still latches and auto release still works); missing a couple center wheel caps.
Major Features:
V-8 motor and automatic transmission are still in excellent shape.
Entire air suspension system (air springs and compressor) was replaced in 2006 ($1300.00).
Intake manifold replaced in 2006. Lincolns were originally equipped with a composite intake manifold which had a tendency to crack at the thermostat area. Replacement manifolds are a combination metal and composite. ($1000.00).
Driver's window regulator replaced in 2008 ($200.00).
Still gets about 18-19 mpg around town and 23-25 on trips (on regular 87 octane gas).
Tire tread approximately 80%.
The following features are still fully functional - Power steering, brakes, windows, seats, door locks & exterior mirrors; rear window defroster; am/fm/cassette tape; heater & air conditioning; tilt wheel, automatic headlamp on/off, intermittent wipers, key-less entry, etc.
I have put 140,000 plus miles on this car (it had around 60,000 on it in 2002 when I bought it) and have loved the car. I have had 6 Lincolns and they are the best car on the road in my opinion. Each one had near or over 200,000 miles on them when sold. I tried a Cadillac in between my Lincoln purchases but went back to Lincoln. The Cadillac was higher in cost and could not compare to the ride of my Lincolns.
Kelly Blue Book Value for private seller on this car is between $2,450.00 (fair condition) & $3,000.00 (good condition) even at this mileage.
